Getting in

Check-in is self-service from 15:00. Your key-safe code arrives by message before you travel. Allow a couple of minutes to find the key safe the first time; it is not at the front door.

Collecting your key from the key safe

The key safe is about a one-minute walk past the building entrance. The video shows the whole route.

From the building entrance to the key safe (37 seconds; the walk is sped up).
  1. Walk along Lamb's Passage with the building entrance on your left. Keep going; do not stop at the entrance.
  2. Continue to the end of the building, which is almost the end of the lane.
  3. Turn left. Just around the corner is a grey door marked Refuse / Recycling Room, with key safes mounted on it.
  4. Yours is the black Kasp key safe. Enter the code from your check-in message, open it and take the key and the entrance fob. Close the safe behind you.
  5. Walk back to the building entrance.

The code is changed for every stay, so please do not share it. If the safe will not open, check the code in your message once more, then call or message us and we will sort it straight away.

Into the building and up to the flat

  1. Hold the fob against the reader at the main entrance and push the door.
  2. Walk straight on past the reception desk. The concierge, Norbert, is there Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:30; do say hello.
  3. The lift is on your right. Take it to the third floor.
  4. Get off on the third floor and open the corridor door on your left, then turn left again.
  5. Flat 21 is at the far end of the corridor, on the left. Use the key to open the door.

Locking the apartment door

The door has a standard key lock with one trick: raise the handle first, then lock with the key. Please lock the door every time you leave.

Close the door, handle up, then key in and lock (15 seconds).
  1. Step out and close the door.
  2. Raise the handle up.
  3. Put the key in and turn it to lock.
  4. Test that it is locked.
There is one key and one fob. Please keep them with you during your stay and return both to the key safe when you leave.

2 · Your apartment

How everything works

Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a laundry room. Everything is electric; there is no gas in the apartment.

Internet & Wi-Fi

Fast full-fibre broadband throughout the apartment.

Network
Hyperoptic Fibre 4E43

There is also a card on the TV stand with a QR code. Point your phone camera at it to connect without typing.

The Hyperoptic router
The router. Please leave it switched on.

Television

Both TVs are LG smart TVs with Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, YouTube, Apple TV and more already installed. Sign in with an LG account and the apps are ready to go. If you do not have one, you can create it in a moment through the free LG ThinQ app, then sign in with your own streaming accounts.

Hot water

Hot water comes from an immersion heater that heats automatically. Please leave the immersion switch on throughout your stay. The switches are in the boiler room.

The booster switch simply heats the water faster for a quick top-up if you have run low, handy before back-to-back showers. The standard setting keeps you supplied the rest of the time.

Heating & air conditioning

The apartment is heated and cooled by an integrated air-conditioning system: one unit in the lounge and one in each bedroom, with warm and cool modes for any season.

Everything is operated from a single control panel in the kitchen, beside the door. The units work together as one system, all on or all off, so individual rooms cannot be switched separately.

Kitchen

  • Appliance switches: the power switches for the hob, oven/microwave and fridge are on the wall opposite the oven, next to the kitchen door.
  • Induction hob: the pans provided are induction-compatible. Please cook with the cookware supplied.
  • Oven & microwave: the oven doubles as a microwave. The manual is stored under the L-section of the sofa.
  • Dishwasher: icon-led controls. Load, add a tablet and select a programme.
  • Extraction fan: please switch it on whenever you cook. Steam from the hob can otherwise set off the smoke alarm.
  • Coffee: a Nespresso machine that happily takes any brand of compatible capsule, and a French press in the cupboard under the hob if you prefer ground coffee.
  • Kettle and toaster: on the counter.

Laundry & cleaning

  • Washer-dryer (Haier): in the laundry room. Choose the cycle to suit your clothing; the settings are straightforward. Detergent is on the shelves directly above the machine.
  • Vacuum (Dyson): mounted on the wall in the laundry room.
  • Iron & board: the iron is in the laundry room; the ironing board is in the wardrobe of the second bedroom.
  • Cleaning supplies: broom, mop, bucket and the rest are kept in the boiler room.

Electricity

The apartment is fully electric. The fuse box is in the laundry room, on the right-hand side, should you ever need to reset a tripped switch: open the cover, find the switch that has dropped down and push it firmly back up.

Linen, towels & extras

  • Hotel-grade bed linen, bath towels, hand towels and bath mats are provided for every guest.
  • Toiletries are in both bathrooms. The hairdryer is in the master bedroom.
  • Alternative pillows are in the wardrobe if you prefer a different firmness.
  • All appliance manuals are stored under the longer (L) section of the sofa.

3 · Bins & recycling

Rubbish and recycling

This is a residential building, so please take rubbish down to the bin store rather than leaving it in the hallway or outside the apartment door.

Where the bin store is

The bin store is downstairs, next to the building entrance. It has a coded lock.

Bin store code
2805
Black bins
Recycling: paper, card, glass, cans, plastic bottles and tubs, rinsed
Green bins
General waste
Entering the code and which bin to use (24 seconds).
  1. Tie your bag. Put recycling in a separate bag from general waste.
  2. Go out of the main entrance; the bin store door is right beside it.
  3. Enter 2805 on the keypad; the door unlocks by itself. Open it.
  4. Black bins for recycling, green bins for everything else. Close the lid and make sure the door shuts behind you.
Bin bags are under the kitchen sink. If you run out, ask us or the concierge.

5 · Check-out

Before you go

Check-out is by 10:00. There is no need to strip the beds or clean; the four things below are all we ask.

  1. Put all rubbish in bags and take it down to the bin store (black for recycling, green for general waste).
  2. Close all the windows and switch off the air conditioning at the kitchen panel.
  3. Leave used towels in the bathrooms.
  4. Lock the door (raise the handle, then lock with the key), then return the key and the fob to the key safe and close it.
Early check-in, late check-out and luggage storage are not available at the moment, as the apartment is prepared for the next guests between 10:00 and 15:00. Left-luggage services are available at Liverpool Street and Moorgate stations and through apps such as Stasher and Bounce.

Thank you for staying with us. If you have a moment afterwards, a short review on your booking platform means a great deal to a newly listed apartment.

Getting around

Six stations within a 15-minute walk, buses in every direction from the end of the road, and direct trains to every airport. Pay with a contactless card or phone on every tube, train and bus in London; there is nothing to buy in advance.

Getting around: Citymapper (free app, the best for London: live tube, bus and walking routes with the cost shown) and Google Maps (transit directions from the apartment) both work well. TfL Journey Planner is the official source for closures and engineering works, especially at weekends.

Buses

Buses are the pleasant way to see the city, and there are stops in every direction within a few minutes' walk. Tap in with a contactless card or phone (£1.75 a journey, capped for the day; unlimited changes within an hour). Citymapper shows the next bus from each stop live.

  • Chiswell Street, right outside the lane: route 153 east to Moorgate and Liverpool Street, or north to Barbican, Angel and Finsbury Park.
  • Finsbury Square / Moorgate (3 min): routes 21, 43 and 141 south to Bank, Monument and London Bridge (for Borough Market and The Shard), and north to Angel and Islington; 76 to Bank, Southwark and Waterloo; 214 to King's Cross, Camden and Highgate.
  • Barbican station / Aldersgate Street (5 min): route 55 west to Holborn, Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Circus, the easiest way to Oxford Street; 243 to Holborn, Aldwych (for Covent Garden), the Strand and Waterloo; 4 south to St Paul's and Blackfriars, north to Angel and Archway; 56 through Clerkenwell to Hackney.
  • Old Street (8 min): route 205 to King's Cross, Euston and Paddington, useful with heavy luggage for those stations.
  • Liverpool Street (12 min): route 11 through the City, past St Paul's, Fleet Street, Trafalgar Square and Westminster to Victoria and Chelsea, a sightseeing tour for £1.75; route 8 to Holborn and Tottenham Court Road.
Night buses (the N55 to Oxford Circus among them) run through the small hours from the same stops. Routes are correct at November 2026; check tfl.gov.uk or Citymapper for live times and any diversions.

To and from the airports

The same route works in both directions; walk to the station named, and the train takes you straight to the terminal.

Taxi figures are typical Uber, Bolt or pre-booked car fares to or from the apartment and vary with time of day and traffic; a black cab is usually more. National Express coaches run between every airport and Victoria Coach Station, which is then about 25 minutes by tube.

Taxis

  • Uber and Bolt both work well here and are usually a few minutes away. Set the pick-up to Chiswell Street, at the end of Lamb's Passage, as the lane itself is narrow.
  • Black cabs can be hailed on Chiswell Street, City Road and Moorgate, or booked through the Free Now app. All accept cards.
